Famous Batons in The Force of Destiny

These are completely different souls and approaches to this great Overture from Verdi’s
monumental opera, La Forza del Destino. Many Maestri have contributed their “takes” on it.
For me, these are the very best, with one I cannot find yet, Victor De Sabata.

This first is by Tullio Serafin with La Scala.

Then Dmitri Mitropoulos also La Scala

Herbert Von Karajan

A very Verdian reading by the amazing James Levine with the Metropolitan Opera.

Two Verdi, from Arturo Toscanini, one “Forza” and a rehearsal most interesting of “Traviata”
