Waiting for the veil to drop…

This is a very rare clip of Nazimova, one of Valentino’s great muses, dancing in Oscar Wilde’s “Salome” rom 1923.

Excerpt from the 1923 production of Oscar Wilde’s “Salome” directed by Charles Bryant. I’ve restored the complete film to the best of my ability, correcting the projection speed, adding a music soundtrack etc, and will soon be posting it to this account. In the meantime, enjoy this short clip from the Maid Marian 2006 restoration of Salome, starring the great Alla Nazimova. Set and costume design by Natacha Rambova, from Aubrey Beardsley’s original artwork.

Very modern and always unusual her approaches, would fit right in today, no?
