“Sola, perduta, abbandonata,” emotional and wonderful Italian phrasing, all but forgotten today in favor of a “cool” approach to Italian Opera. Everyone is entitled to their choice. This is an example of one I like, movingly sung by the amazing and vivid Clara Petrella. Wow.
